High-performance waterproofing and asphalt coating solution
Under the TPC brand, the Libyan Origin Bituminous Primer product is exported from Libya to all over the world.
It is a medium curing cutback asphalt.
A bituminous medium consisting of bitumen and kerosene (as a solvent), it is called an impregnation layer. The ratio of kerosene is 40% and bitumen is 60%.
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Primary layer spray rate | 0.5-1.75 liters/m² |
| Spray temperature | 50-80°C |
| Minimum allowed spray temperature | 15°C |
| Curing time | No less than 48 hours and no more than 7 days after spraying |
| Kerosene ratio | 40% |
| Bitumen ratio | 60% |
Permitted duration for leaving the layer after spraying:
The MC-1 bituminous basecoat should be left to cure for a period of no less than 48 hours and no more than (7) days after spraying. If the asphalt is not applied after this period, the contractor shall maintain the basecoat until it is covered with a subsequent layer.
The minimum permissible temperature for spraying the MC1 layer is 15°C. The materials most likely to absorb MC1 are A2-4, as they are softer and have a larger surface area, making them more impregnable with MC1.
How to determine the spray rate (liters/m²) or (kg/m²) for the impregnating layer or adhesive layer: A sheet of metal, a 1 x 1 meter tarpaulin sheet, or any other surface with a known area, whatever is available, is used. The spraying vehicle passes over it and is weighed before and after spraying. The spray rate is then determined. If the rate is lower than the specifications, the vehicle may reduce its speed during spraying.
